An ode to my yellow
Whose smile outshines that of even Helen of Troy's and could easily launch not one thousand but a million ships
My yellow
Who burns so bright that the sun feels dull and insecure in comparison
My yellow
Is sweet and kind
And they’re so them that they don’t even know they're my yellow
My sun and my stars
My universe and my world
The reason I wear seatbelts now
And try to see the light at the end of the very long and dark tunnel
The reason I can laugh and smile
And it doesn’t feel like a chore
The reason I see the world in color
Instead of the monotone hues
My yellow
I have so much to thank them for
As without them
My beautiful yellow
My skies would be dull and grey
My heart black
An ode to my yellow
Thank you.

authors note:
I despise the color yellow, but the phrase is for someone who turns your life around, a light in the dark of existence. I have met my yellow and I adore them with everything in me, they truly are my sun and stars, my moon in the darkest night, and the thing that keeps me going.
